December 17th and 18th – Christmas in Cheleiros
On the next 17th and 18th of December, the first event integrated in the Aldeias de Portugal – CHRISTMAS network will take place in Cheleiros.
There is good Gastronomy, Handicrafts, Local Products, Animation and Workshops, in the Churchyard of the Igreja Matriz de Cheleiros.
The event is free, it is only necessary to request registration in the Bread and Bread workshops, as they have limited spaces. Vacancies are really running out.

This event follows a project of Cooperation between National Local Action Groups, funded by the PDR2020, in which A2S in collaboration with the União de Freguesia de Cheleiros e Igreja Nova and the Municipality of Mafra, applied for the village of Cheleiros to be integrated in the Aldeias de Portugal Network, an initiative of the Associação Turismo de Aldeia.
This network intends to enhance villages by promoting the experience of rurality, material and immaterial heritage and the collective memory of the community.
The village of Cheleiros in Mafra joined the network in October, being the only village in the Lisbon region that is implementing its Valuation Plan, which consists of a set of initiatives and events taking place over the next 3 years, with the objective of valuing and developing the village.
