23rd to 25th of September – Palmela Medieval Fair
The Medieval Fair of Palmela is back in the Castle and Historic Center of the village, from the 23rd to the 25th of September.
After an interruption of two years motivated by the pandemic, the Fair returns in its traditional format, with the theme “Mesteirais e Other Gentes na Palmela do Séc. XII”
Based on the data contained in the “Foral dos Mouros Forros”, from 1170, and in the Foral de Palmela, from 1185, this edition offers visitors a journey into the daily life of the people of Palmela – a world of agro-pastoral, artisanal, market, in which economic, social and religious life develops.
As usual, the Fair will feature a diversified entertainment program and the presence of artisans/artists and catering.
With this event, the Municipality of Palmela continues its strategy of developing tourism and stimulating the Historic Center, contributing to attracting visitors and supporting local restaurants and accommodation, valuing its history and culture, without forgetting community involvement and participation.
