Santa Casa Alfama Festival
Each edition, the Santa Casa Alfama Festival celebrates Fado in the heart of Alfama. Born in 2013, from the challenge of creating the first major music festival that conveys the Portuguese identity and soul, Fado.
And it is with this same challenge in mind that Santa Casa Alfama returns in 2022, for its 10th edition, in a tribute to Portuguese culture with the greatest interpreters of Fado, but also emerging names that point the way to the future.
After a 2020 edition dedicated to Amália Rodrigues, in the diva’s centenary year, and 2021 dedicated to Carlos do Carmo, 2022 will be a year of tribute to Max, one of the central figures of Portuguese popular music made in the 20th century. One of the most outstanding moments of this tribute will be the great concert with the artistic direction of António Zambujo, accompanied by several guests. Not to be missed!
Santa Casa Alfama takes place in Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood. Filled with magnificent architecture, this one well reflects the music on offer. The event takes place in a wide variety of spaces and it is this variety that provides visitors with a unique artistic range, worthy of being appreciated.
And because Fado doesn’t choose ages, Santa Casa Alfama was designed with the aim of reaching all audiences: from those who know Fado deeply, to those who want to learn about this greater art, or who have only recently discovered it. figuring out. The particular characteristics of Santa Casa Alfama promote movement and organization, seeking to make the public a greater protagonist, giving life to Alfama, a place that breathes the history of Fado. The nights of September 23 and 24, 2022, will therefore remain in the memory of all those who attend the concerts that will fill this year’s lineup, and which reinforce the reason why, in 2011, Fado was elevated to the category of Oral Heritage. and Intangible Material of Humanity by UNESCO.
In addition to the 2-day pass, the daily ticket is also available, both at very attractive prices.
The pass for the 2 days of the Festival, as well as the daily ticket, must be exchanged for a wristband, by the person, placed by the Festival organization at the ticket offices located at the Fado Museum, from the 23rd of September. The bracelet gives access to all spaces of the Festival up to the limit of each one’s capacity.
